Modeling of FDMA, TDMA, CDMA and handover mobile radio channels

A model of a radio environment depends on the state-of-the-art in microwave radio and digital signal processing technologies, computer, cartography, photogrametry, surveying, and other related science disciplines. A part of in-house ongoing development efforts in the area of mobile radio channel modeling and use of the scarce natural resource, the airwaves, in an environmentally friendly manner is discussed. The importance of correlation between theoretical (geometric theory of diffraction including ray-tracing) and practical (radio and topographic charts) approaches for understanding and modeling any radio channel is emphasized. An improved algorithm/model describing radio channels that involve multiple access and handover is compared with simulators described in the literature.
