Behavior of directional protection from fault to ground with interrupted arc

Directional current protection from grounding has been widespread in distribution networks and voltage equipment, 6-35 kV. One of the most complicated operational regimes of the protection is fault to ground (FG) accompanied by an interrupted arc. Due to the moments of the arc ignition and arc starvation are random values, not only oscillograms of zero frequency current and voltage get distorted to a great extent, but the angle between the components of industrial and voltage frequencies change randomly. All that has a great influence on the protection's behavior.
