An introduction to microwave transmission lines

Planar transmission lines for microwave circuits have been devised, developed and come of age within the past 40 years. The author describes the characteristics, pecularities, and problems of the most important planar lines from the point of view of the microwave circuit design engineer. The topics discussed are: the stripline and the basics of transverse electromagnetic (TEM) mode lines; microstrip; coplanar waveguides and twinstrip; slotline and finline; end-effects; and unwanted radiation.<
