Abstract:

The paper deals with the design, simulation and verification of single input single output (SISO) discrete self-tuning controllers (STC) with respect to their application in the decentralized control of multi input multi output (MIMO) symmetric systems. The proposed controllers can be divided into two parts. The first part covers PID adaptive algorithms based on the traditional Ziegler-Nichols method for setting of the controller parameters; and the second part of the described controllers uses the pole placement design. The controllers are implemented in the Matlab STC Toolbox using Matlab Simulink block library taking advantage of the completely open system based on SIMULINK features. The contribution also includes practical results obtained from the process of adaptive control of two-input two-output linear systems.
