This paper describes implementation approaches in image acquisition and playback for 3-D computer graphics, 3-D television and 3-D theatre movies without special glasses. Projection lamps, spatial light modulators, CRT's and dynamic scanning are all eliminated by the application of an active image array, all static components and a semi-specular screen. The resulting picture shows horizontal paral... View full abstract»

The advent of digital television introduces the possibility of enhancing the appearance of pictures without some of the distortions inherent in present analog techniques. This report presents a method for sharpening the edges, or crispening, of television pictures through digital signal processing within the receiver. By increasing the rise time for edges, boundaries can be crispened without the p... View full abstract»

We have developed two kinds of new ICs for use in FM demodulators of satellite TV receivers. The ICs achieved good temperature stability in an automatic gain control (AGC) amplifier and in a phase-locked demodulator. The ICs also include a signal level amplifier, a driver for the 1st AGC circuit, an automatic frequency tuning (AFT) amplifier, and a voltage regulator. The ICs were fabricated by usi...
