Pure copper is used extensively in electric equipment because of its high conductivity, but its low tensile strength and its high specific gravity make it generally unsuitable for structural purposes. The author describes the problems involved in adjusting the various properties of copper so that the greatest efficiency in the use of the equipment can be achieved. View full abstract»
