    In this paper, with the Kronecker's product and Kronecker's sum of matrices, the 2nd order moment equations of linear Itô stochastic systems are dervided. Based On the moment equations obtained, a necessary and sufficient condition for the mean-square asymptotic stability of linear Itô stochastic systems is obtained. For the time-invariant stochastic systems, the necessary and sufficient condition is just the same as the Hurwitz property of certain matrices related to the coefficient matrices of the systems.     Rationality condition is imposed in Arrow's General Possibility Theorem in order for social choice to be independent of the path of choice. In this paper, emphasis is laid on the analysis of the relevance of path independence and rationality condition. Two kinds of path independence, i. e., Plott's path independence and Bandyopadhyay's sequential path independence, are shown, and their meanings with respect to the problem are investigated.   • Sequential track monitoring with multiple 2-D Passive sensors

    Track monitoring is a fast method of determining incorrect return-to-track and track-to-track assignments. An analytical method to evaluate the effectiveness of track monitoring was presented by reference [1]. In order to reduce the probability of initiating or accepting the ghost track, two sequential track monitoring algorithms, which use the inclination angles to form test statistics, are proposed in this paper. Two decision rules are given and the corresponding thresholds are derived. The paper also gives the estimation methods of the noncentral parameter of noncentral chi-square distribution when the true value of it is unknown. the algorithms can adaptively estimate the decision thresholds and can make sequential track monitoring decision on line. Simulation is also made and the results show that the proposed algorithms are effective and feasible. View full abstract»

  • Efficient partially asynchronous parallel simulation on multicomputer systems: Research and practice

    This paper presents partially asynchronous parallel simulation of continuous-system (PAPSoCS) and some approaches to the issues of its implementation on a multicomputer system. To guarantee the simulation results correct and speedup the simulation, the scheme for efficient PAPSoCS is proposed and the virtual topology star is constructed to match the path of message passing for solving algorithm-architecture adequation problem. Under the circumstances that messages frequently passed inter-processor are much shorter, typically within several 4 bytes, asynchronous communication mode is employed to reduce the communication ratio. Experiment results show that asynchronous parallel simulation has much higher efficiency than its synchronous counterpart. View full abstract»

  • The determination of optimal routes of an undirected network

    In this research paper, a routing problem of undirected networks has been solved. The problem was to determine the optimal routes of a telecommunication network. A heuristic approach has been adopted, due to the specific nature of the problem. The problem is only concerned with distant (remote) nodes of the network which are indirectly linked through a single intermediate node. To determine the optimal routes, the devised heuristic has been coded in FORTRAN language. For the validation of developed heuristic, it has been implemented on two sample networks. Finally, it has been applied to the actual (given) network. The achieved results have proved its application in specific networking problem.     This paper, using pseudo-conservation laws in cyclic-service systems, derives some expressions for the weighted sum of the mean waiting time token ring networks with exhaustive limited service policies on condition that messages arrived with batch Poisson, and discusses boundary conditions. At the same time, the results of the token ring network with exhaustive and non-exhaustive service strategy are obtained.   • An explicit integer programming model of the minimal spanning tree problem for digraphs with asymmetric weights

    As far as the minimal spanning tree problem for the digraph with asymmetric weights is concerned, an explicit integer programming model is proposed, which could be solved successfully using the integer programming packages such as LINDO, and furthermore this model is extended into the stochastic version, that is, the minimal spanning tree problem for the digraph with the weights is not constant but random variables.
