    The paper describes the development of mobile communication first and then points out that it is necessary for China to develop satellite mobile communication after comparing the cellular mobile communication with the satellite mobile communication. After comparing the geostationary satellite system with the low earth orbit satellite mobile communication system, as well as the single beam with the multi-beams, both used in satellite mobile communication, we suggest that China, according to its economic status and level of satellite technology, should develop a geostationary multi-beams satellite for its domestic mobile communication.   • On the small SNR processing ability of IR point target detection

    Three-dimensional (3-D) matched filtering has been suggested as a powerful processing technique for detecting weak, moving IR point target immersed in a noisy field. Based on the theory of the 3-D matched filtering and the optimal linear processing, the optimal point target detector is being analyzed in this paper. The performance of the detector is introduced in detail. The results provide a standard reference to evaluate the performance of any other point target detection algorithms. View full abstract»

  • A new stealth technique for vehicles based on the enhancement of angular glint

    A general 2-D problem of electromagnetic scattering from a multiple cavity-backed longitudinally loaded slotted perfectly conducting cylinder with arbitrary cross section is formulated. The formulation is used to account for the scattered field from the scale models, for which, a series of experiments has been conducted in an anechoic chamber. Quite good agreement between theory and experiment is obtained. The analysis of the experimental results near resonant frequency shows that the reduction of backscattering radar cross section over wide aspect angles, and the dominant enhancement of target angular glint (linear deviation) can be achieved by impedance loading such as multiple cavity-backed slots, which realizes a new stealth technique for vehicles.     This paper presents a brief summary of the three development stages of investigation the transpiration cooling and its control for aircraft, missiles and electromagnetic gun, then the control problem of the distributed parameters system with a moving boundary is derived. It introduces the mathematical model of the transpiration cooling control, its control characteristics, and the present situation of the experimental and theoretical study on this problem. This paper also describes the main study results and the existing problems. The prospective application is also reported.   • The numerical simulation of flow field of jet system

    In this paper, the internal fluid motion of a jet system is described by the Navier-Stokes mechanics equations. For the simulation of the motion, the penalty function finite element method is used, and the velocity vectors and stream function curves are obtained. Using the Prandtl theory, this paper derives the free jet velocity and the jet bunch width in a half-space, the latter of which is amended by experiment. The results obtained in this paper are applied to micro-type high pressure water jet cleaner and the ejector of rocket engine. View full abstract»

  • Three-dimensional space interpolation of grey / depth image sequence — A new technique of computer graphics synthesis

    This paper advances a three-dimensional space interpolation method of grey / depth image sequence, which breaks free from the limit of original practical photographing route. Pictures can cruise at will in space. By using space sparse sampling, great memorial capacity can be saved and reproduced scenes can be controlled. To solve time consuming and complex computations in three-dimensional interpolation algorithm, we have studied a fast and practical algorithm of scattered space lattice and that of “Warp” algorithm with proper depth. By several simple aspects of three-dimensional space interpolation, we succeed in developing some simple and practical algorithms. Some results of simulated experiments with computers have shown that the new method is absolutely feasible. View full abstract»
