Issue 3 • Date May-June 2011
IBM POWER7 Technology and Systems
In the seventh generation of POWER processors, IBM introduces a balanced, high-performance eight-core multi-chip design, with large on-chip embedded DRAM and 4-way simultaneous multithreading. The papers in this issue describe the key hardware and software technologies used to build POWER7 processor-based systems from chip manufacturing technologies and architectural design and verification to systems packaging, design, and performance. A variety of systems are illustrated including a high-performance, high-productivity Productive, Easy-to-use, Reliable Computing System (PERCS).
Nontopical Paper
This issue includes a nontopical paper on tools to aid the development of natural language processing applications.
