With a sectionalized tower high angle radiation can be minimized to give better ground wave performance than is possible with a simple vertical radiator. A study of theoretical conditions in conjunction with physical limitations reveals that it is necessary to maximize the current distribution on any given tower construction to obtain the maximum ground plane field intensity. Several sectionalized... View full abstract»

A deflection yoke for an image-orthicon was built entirely from printed circuits and operated in a television camera. With the exception of resistance (which for the printed circuit model was much higher) the parameters of a conventional wire-wound yoke were quite readily reproduced, including inductances per coil of as much as 16 millihenries. The use of wider conductors, improved drafting techni... View full abstract»
