One of the toughest parts of being a grad student is having a limited income. Paying for groceries can be a challenge, never mind finding the money to pay for even a limited education in finances. Grogan Advisory Services, which bills itself as an independent financial services firm, works with the IEEE to offer free advice to student members of the IEEE. A review of current assets and how those a... View full abstract»

The goal of this study was to determine the rapidity and magnitude of metal oxide sensor response to airborne contaminants on the target analyte list for the third generation ENose. The immediate and sharp response of the metal oxide sensors indicates that they would indeed serve as a reliable event indicator for the ENose. A custom fabrication procedure to deposit metal oxide on the microhotplate... View full abstract»

A highly cost-efficient frequency measurement svstem for frequency diagnostics of high-power gyrotrons in the frequency range of 100-175 GHz has been developed. The advantages of this system are a wide bandwidth of 75 GHz, and the typical sensitivity of -30 dBm. This new measurement system can measure the frequency with an accuracy of better than 10 kHz in real time. It is easy to observe frequenc... View full abstract»
