A CATV powering program is described and a listing for the Apple II microcomputer provided. The program enables a user to rapidly and confidently compute voltages and currents for CATV amplifiers powered with either switching regulated or series regulated power supplies. Savings of both design time and energy consumption are possible since the user is able to quickly and easily optimize terminatin... View full abstract»

This paper describes the design and fabrication of compact bandpass filters for UHF TV channels using Stepped Impedance Resonators (S.I.R.). The fabricated channel filter shows an insertion loss of below 3.0 dB with 6 MHz passband at a center frequency of 690 MHz. The center frequency can be changed ±50 MHz. View full abstract»

For some time many cable television systems have been using in the so-called "midband" and "superband" frequencies which are assigned to aeronautical radio services in the over-the-air radio spectrum. It is commonly anticipated that the use of such frequencies will increase as more and more services are provided on cable systems. Thus, it is important to know (1) whether signal leakage from cable ... View full abstract»
