    A system is described to implement the FCC's nonduplication rule which requires deletion from cable television systems of network programming material which would duplicate the programming of a local TV station.     The results of analogue optical transmission experiments for frequency division multiplexed (FDM) colour television signals in the sub-low bands (T7 ~Tll; 5.75 MHz ~35.75 MHz) is described. In the experimental system, a hend-end (Jerrold; Commander II) provided the source signals and a commercial demodulator (Jerrold; Commander) was used to recover the video signal. The light source was a light-emitting diode (Bell Northern Research Ltd.; BNR 42-3-20) and the detector was an avalanche photodiode (RCA; C-30817). View full abstract»

    The traditionial approach to determining system lentgth has been cross modulation and signal to noise ratio. However, since the number of channels carried in systems is now being designed for greater than the standard twelve channels, the limiting performance can change from cross modulation to composite triple beat. Aims & Scope

IEEE Transactions on Cable Television (published between 1972 and 1980) included within its scope microwave, satellite earth stations, data transmission, fibre optics, receiving antennas and propagation, closed circuit origination facilities, home terminals, games and the whole range of promising applications for broadband communications network.
