A systematic method for analyzing AM field strength measurement data to establish inverse distance field strength and ground conductivity zones is presented. The technique uses a simple bivariate error minimization routine to find the combination of radiation and conductivity which most closely matches the measurement data out to three kilometers. The balance of the conductivity zones are determin... View full abstract»

A location-dependent statistical distribution model for AM broadcast groundwave signal amplitudes is presented. The distribution is in the fonm of a probability density function (pdf) whose expected value is the predicted feld strength based on propagation formulas, and whose variance can be empirically derived from analysis of actual groundwave field strength measurements. The results are useful ... View full abstract»

Topics related to an Auto-Radio-Information (ARI) Service are considered. As it is well known, such a service is devoted to an instantaneous message distribution to all traffic-participants: at MF-AM and/or VHF-FM via stereo/mono broadcasting services. When using MF-AM transmission this service is automatically identified by two tones located in the subaudio baseband. One of them is the program id... View full abstract»
