    A new method of pattern synthesis for antenna arrays, based on the expansions of eigensources and eigenpatterns with an iterative modification of phase pattern, is presented which has been applied successfully to the array of either isotropic or anisotropic elements.     A computationally efficient closed-form approximation to the bounded part of the exact kernel, partitioned after Schelkunoff (1952), of a cylindrical antenna integral equation is given.   • Beam propagation method applied to a step discontinuity in dielectric planar waveguides

    The powers transmitted and lost at an abrupt discontinuity in planar guides are calculated numerically using the beam propagation method for the TE-modes. Discontinuities include changes in core thickness and refractive index. Symmetric and asymmetric waveguides are considered.     Based on the cavity model theory, formulas for the design of circularly polarised rectangular patch antennas have been derived.
