    A mathematical model of high gradient magnetic separation (HGMS) is presented, along with data on a characterized and sized feed material.   • Anisotropic reversible permeability effects in the magnetic reproduce process

    The effect of an anisotropic, reversible medium permeability on the reproduce flux from an arbitrary recorded magnetization pattern has been calculated. It is shown that for normally oriented media the anisotropy of the permeability always acts to increase the reproduce flux.     The usual reciprocity relation in magnetic reproduction is shown to be one form of a more general expression. This generalization incorporates an arbitrary tensor permeability which represents well oriented recording media.
