    In this paper, communication QoS property in autonomous decentralized real-time control system is defined. Conventional ADP realized the properties, such as reliability of data transmission, on-demand data distribution and on-line property. In order to achieve the time-deterministic property and assurance property, a QoS-ADP is proposed. The data filtering and arbitration mechanisms of QoS-ADP are also discussed. Finally, a prototype of QoS-ADP is implemented on Windows platform and LAN. The result of test and evaluation shows that the main features of QoS-ADP, such as time-deterministic data transmission, data flow control and assurance can be achieved. View full abstract»

    The advancement of wireless communication and mobile telecommunication has made mobile commerce possible. In the retail business under the evolving market, the users would like to utilize the appropriate services based on their preference and situation. The service providers need to grasp the current requirements of the majority of the users in the local service area in order to provide the effective service for the current local majority of the service area. The service oriented community is proposed in order to satisfy both users' and service providers' requirements. In the Community, the members cooperate with each other in order to get mutual benefits like social community. The users provide their requirements to service providers while utilizing the services, and service providers utilize the users marketing information the services while proving the services. This marketing information should be collected in the flexible area based on services in real time. Hence flexibility and real-time property are required. Time Distance Oriented Information Service System has been proposed to achieve flexibility to provide and utilize the users' marketing information in the area based on services. But this system does not collect the users' marketing information in real time. In this paper, autonomous synchronization technology is proposed to satisfy real time property. Each node in the community waits for the multiple messages sent asynchronously and continuously, and integrates them.     Due to the advent of electronic commerce, the need for flexibility, adaptability and rapid response time to information services system has become increasingly important. In order to cope with the continuously changing conditions of service provision and utilization, Faded Information Field (FIF) has been proposed. FIF is a distributed information service system architecture that is sustained by push/pull mobile agents to bring high-assurance of services through users' preference-oriented information prevision on supply-demand basis. In this paper we propose the technology for FIF design to resolve the competing requirements of users and providers to improve users' access time. The effectiveness of the proposed technology is shown through evaluation and the results show that the appropriate structure of FIF can improve the total users response time compared with conventional system.     With the complexity of the equipments and their functions on trains, the control, supervision and maintenance of these equipments also become more and more complex. So it is necessary to use train area network to realize the cooperation of control, supervision, service and other factors and realize integration of locomotives and trailers. In this paper, we design and propose a scheme for train area network. The whole train network connecting vehicles uses autonomous decentralized system (ADS) technology and vehicle network connecting devices inside a vehicle uses publish/subscribe (P/S) communication mode based on controller area network (CAN).   • Error-resilient video transmission for distributed remote video monitoring system

    In this paper, the structure of distributed remote video monitoring system (DRVMS) is introduced. When the compressed video is transmitted over error prone networks it can suffer severe interfering. So the error control strategies of resynchronization, data recovery and error concealment are discussed, and a novel temporal concealment method is adopted. This method improves the robustness of the DRVMS system. Simulation results, with an H.263+ codec and different video packet lost rate, show the satisfactory concealment performance of the adopted technique and suitable for real-time video monitoring system.     System needs of growing systems including heterogeneous functions and operations are increased. High assurance system that achieves high reliability and high availability is very important for such systems. In order to realize high assurance system, we developed the assurance technology based on ADS (Autonomous Decentralized System). When a growing system changes or grows, its reliability may be lowered. In this paper, we clarify the risk factors which lower the reliability and quality of a growing system when the system is modified. We will then examine the technology to eliminate or mitigate those risk factors, and propose adaptive assurance technology that can minimize the risk. We also applied this technology to ATOS (Autonomous Decentralized Transport Operation Control System) for Tokyo Metropolitan Railway Network as an example of really changing and growing system and mention its effectiveness.   • Agent technology recommending personalized information and its evaluation

    These days, personalized contents recommending services are attracting world wide attention due to the development of broadcasting technology based on WWW and P2P technology. In this paper, we propose a method of implementing our active autonomous agents that discover and recommend contents matched with the user's preference without the user's guidance. The agents can learn the user preference by observing the user's reaction to contents recommended by the agents. We evaluate the convergence and adaptability of our agents' learning algorithm by simulation with our programmable movie service (PM service), which composes and provides appropriate contents for users.   • A new better algorithm for rectilinear embedding of four-regular graphs

    Rectilinear embedding has provided a theoretic system for the planar design of VLSI circuit. According to this system, the paper shows a new algorithm that can generate the graph example of the four-regular graph with any number of vertices, determine its bipolar orientation and bipolar numbering, draw its rectilinear embedding graph and optimize the drawing. We have compared our algorithm with those in (Tamassia and Tollis, 1989) and (Tamassia, 1987) and obtained less total number of the bends in the similar situation. View full abstract»

    A novel security next generation intelligent network (NGIN) based Parlay API is presented in the paper. Due to a wide range of heterogeneous hardware platforms, the forthcoming network convergence to IP-based networks and the tremendous growth of telecommunication markets, NGIN will be the core in the future world. Firstly, we give the description of the NGIN architecture. Then we focus on the security issues and requirements raised by NGIN. Based on Security Gateway Server (SGS) and Security Interceptor (SI), new security architecture with its associated security management for NGIN is presented.     Highly reliable and flexible video monitoring networks are especially necessary for substation monitoring in traction power system. In this paper, wide area video communication networks based on E1 fiber channel are designed. Harmonious transmission of video and alarm data is realized by proposing two approaches, namely polling by control center and video transfer by substations. A video transmission architecture based on RTP/UDP/IP is advanced. With QoS feedback of RTCP, not only is influence of electric interference in railway private line monitoring greatly reduced, but also dynamically changing bandwidth in Internet monitoring can be made full use of by adjusting the output bitrate of video encoder. Finally, bandwidth control algorithms of video source are discussed. It is proved by experiment that approaches proposed in this paper are adaptive to various video monitoring environments such as electrified railways and Internet, etc. View full abstract»

    Accurate control of the air fuel ratio in a spark-ignition engine is critical to satisfying future emissions regulators. The goal of this research is to explore the use of fuzzy neural networks as a means of precisely controlling the air fuel ratio of a lean-burn compressed natural gas (CNG) engine. A control, without based on engine model, has been utilized to construct a feedforward/feedback control scheme to regulate air fuel ratio. Using fuzzy neural networks, a fuzzy neural hybrid controller is obtained based on PI controller.     East Japan Railway Company, commonly referred to as JR East, has developed a new Shinkansen Automatic Train Control (ATC) that utilizes digital communication and control. Officially named "DS-ATC," this system controls train speed mainly relying on the on-board equipment, allowing a reduction in rail-side devices. The present ATC used on the Tohoku and Joetsu Shinkansen has become outdated and needs to be replaced in several years, so its renewal plan is being drafted. JR East is planning to replace the system with the DS-ATC discussed here. Since it is difficult to replace the entire line at one time, it is necessary to divide the construction area and replace the entire line gradually. Therefore, there are places where DS-ATC and present ATC overlap, and in these places the ATC system change during high-speed service. This paper describes the mechanism of this mode change.     Recently with the advent of IT and the wide spread use of the Internet, new user oriented production and logistic systems, such as the supply chain management system, have been required in order to cope with the drastic and continuous changes on the markets and users' preferences. Therefore, heterogeneous database systems need to be integrated in a common environment which can cope effectively with the heterogeneous requirements of each company under an ever-evolving changing environment. That is assurance. Autonomous Decentralized Database System (ADDS) is proposed as a system architecture in order to realize assurance in distributed database systems. In this system architecture, a loosely-consistency management technology is proposed in order to maintain the consistency of the system, each database can update autonomously, and confer the real time property. A background coordination technology, performed by an autonomous mobile agent, is devised to adapt the system to evolving situations. The system can achieve real time by allocating the information in advance among the sites that has different time constraints for updating. Moreover, an assurance information allocation technology is proposed when considering that a failure in the background coordination mechanism may lead to loss of data and unavailability of the system. This mechanism, in which the mobile agent autonomously regulate its own capacity for allocating the information, is proposed based on the real-time property and system's availability considerations.     Web-based applications are being more and more widely used, and electronic document safety technology is considered as an important technique to ensure the integrity of data. The traditional approaches are either inefficient or insecure to achieve non-repudiation in electronic commerce. This article presents a method that could resolve this problem. We develop a cryptographic module, which is based on RSA algorithm, and it supports not only international standard cryptographic algorithm such as RC2, RC4, 3DES but also algorithms developed by domestic researcher.     CERN's (European Organization for Nuclear Research) WISDOM project deals with the replication of data between homogeneous sources in a wide area network (WAN) using the eXtensible Markup Language (XML). The last phase of the WISDOM (Wide-area, database Independent Serialization of Distributed Objects for data Migration) project, indicates the future directions for this work to be to incorporate heterogeneous sources as compared to homogeneous sources. This work will become essential for the CERN community once the need to transfer their legacy data to some other source, other then Objectivity, arises. Oracle 9i - an object relational database (including support for abstract data types, ADTs) appears to be a potential candidate for the physics event store in the CERN CMS experiment.     The key component in enterprise information framework is the enterprise model that affects many aspects of implementing enterprise information system. In this paper, a new model named P-PROCE model is put forward especially for intranet enterprise. It consists of five sub models: process model, product model, resource model, organization model, cost and evaluation model (P-PROCE). The process model serves as the heart and center of the enterprise model, which decides efficiency, cost and final revenue. Its application is presented in detail after the model is introduced.   • An engineering method for multi-sensor track fusion

    An engineering algorithm for multi-sensor track fusion is put forward in this paper to decrease the error association probability and shorten the association time. The algorithm is divided into initial track confirmation and track maintenance. Batch processing technology is wisely used to finish initial track confirmation. In track maintenance, the polynomial prediction and the mapping of track number between local and fusion center are applied to implement associating state estimations with existing tracks, then updating the existing tracks.     The headway towards the outstanding future can be realized with the productive cooperation among peoples and organizations. Inspired from the spirit of cooperation in the rapidly social changing communities, we propose an autonomous decentralized community (ADC) concept. It is a group of autonomous members, whereas each member has his own objectives, complies with the community obligations and cooperates with the others for achieving his own objectives. ADC system has to meet the heterogeneous and continuously changing requirements of the community service utilization and provision. It requires support for real-time communication among community members. Therefore, we propose an autonomous decentralized community communication technique.   • Research on DFx evaluation system for distributed design based on multi-agent

    With the formation of global market and appearance of dynamic alliance, distributed design and evaluation become especially important. To solve the limitation of traditional DFx systems, we present a DFx evaluation model that is based on multi-agent system (MAS) and supports distributed design. We firstly discuss the advantages of the MAS and establish a DFx frame making best of it. Then, we make the definition of domain-specific ontology, which is the basis of the MAS. It supports the knowledge sharing among agents and the integration of the enterprise knowledge. Finally, we give the detailed design of each agent.     Current information service systems are characterized by continuous changes of services from business companies promoting their special offers on-line, and unpredictable users' demand. In such system, service providers (SPs) require timely update to inform about their new products, and at the same time, users require a timely access to the information services. This fosters an urgent need for the design of a high-assurance information service system, that is, a system can meet both providers' and users' heterogeneous requirements. Faded Information Field (FIF), sustained by push/pull mobile agents, is such an architecture that brings high-assurance through a recursive demand-oriented provision of the most popular information closer to the users to make a tradeoff between the cost of service allocation and service access. However, when users' demand changes, there is a need for dynamically restructuring the information service system to restore the balance between users and SPs. This paper proposes an autonomous information allocation technique in the FIF environment. In this technique, nodes and push mobile agents locally coordinate to estimate the workload congestion of upper nodes and determine the new allocated information volume matching the current users' needs.
