    The metamorphic robotic systems are a new and rather perspective sphere of robotics because of their different and useful applications. An implementation of intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFS) in multiagent systems (MAS) is chosen for presenting a useful control techniques of metamorphic robots. They could be considered as a collection of identical modules and each unit has the ability to connect, disconnect and climb over its near neighbours (modules). So changing the overall shape of a robot is possible to be applied in different task decisions.     The investigation deals with the employment of a Smith predictor as an improved working mechanism for overcoming the negative effects arising in control systems with a long time delay. As a model-based algorithm it imposes a stringent restriction over systems behavior by parametric uncertainty. The adaptation algorithm proposed in this paper uses data, derived by analysis of control system performance. It determines a quantitative correction for uncertainty compensation of model parameters and the allowable rate of increasing the gain coefficient of the conventional PI-controller. Special attention is paid and a significant experimental volume of the investigation is carried out for estimation and excluding the effects of the available noise in the system with a specific intensity and spectral density on method accuracy.     A monolithic RF power amplifier has been designed to provide 10 dBm output power at 1GHz to a 50 ohm load from 2.8 V supply. The amplifier has been developed first at 5 MHz and then at 1GHz. 0.8 μm SiGe BiCMOS and 0.35 μm Si CMOS technologies are used.     Process monitoring and fault diagnosis have been studied widely in recent years, and the number of industrial applications with encouraging results has grown rapidly. In the case of complex processes a computer aided monitoring enhances operators' possibilities to run the process economically. In this paper a fault diagnosis system is described and some application results from the Outokumpu Harjavalta smelter are discussed. The system monitors process states using neural networks (Kohonen self-organizing maps, SOM) in conjunction with heuristic rules, which are also used to detect equipment malfunctions.     This paper describes the design of the digital Baseband and LMP layers in Bluetooth from the hardware development aspect related to the generic core for fuzzy logic devices. The Baseband layer performs the functions related to interface interaction between the Bluetooth chipset and the external or integrated radio chip and a host system. In Baseband different modules are integrated for data processing like modules for generating the frequency hopping sequence, fast error correction codes 1/3 and 2/3, cyclic redundancy check algorithm, whitening, assembling and de-assembling of data packets. All these modules are successfully developed and implemented in the designed device. In addition some hardware optimizations have been made to meet the requirements of modern electronics.     This paper studies the impact of neural network accuracy on the feedback/feed-forward (FB/FF) pH neutralization control system performance. Five neural networks (NNs) are incorporated in a FB/FF control structure in order to perform nonlinear compensation of the non-measurable input disturbances. Two significant problems connected with the application of the FF scheme are discussed - the appearance of oscillations and the offset of the system output from its desired value. A procedure for adding of auxiliary points in the training data set when the NNs accuracy is not sufficient is derived. Simulation results are presented. View full abstract»

  • Design, analysis and optimisation of monolithic inductors for RF applications

    The design, analysis and optimisation of monolithic inductors on silicon (Si) substrates are discussed. Inductors with inductance values from 1 to 20 nH and quality factors up to 14 for AMS 0.35 μm CMOS and AMS 0.8 μm BiCMOS SiGe technologies are created. A custom computer-aided-design tool called ASITIC (analysis and simulation of inductors and transformers for integrated circuits) is used for the design, analysis and optimisation. Structures created in ASITIC are optimised and verified with simulations in CADENCE.     Through this paper, four different neural network structures which are: multilayer perceptron, radial basis function, general regression neural network and probabilistic neural network are applied to the escherichia coli bacteria benchmark and the most efficient neural network architecture for this data has been obtained.     The paper presents a poetry generator realization in SWI Prolog. Based on an original approach for composing computer poetry, the generator produces rhymed verses on the basis of user-defined rhythm templates preserving the specific melody of the verse in grammatically correct sentences.     This paper presents an intuitionistic fuzzy generalized net model of a transaction database system, which uses the 2PL protocol with periodic deadlock detection. It defines probabilities for a transaction to be granted a requested lock, held back by another transaction or deadlocked, which are integrated with the intuitionistic fuzzy predicates.   • Neural networks for modeling of dynamic systems with hysteresis

    Neural network (NN) modeling of input-output sequences for measurement transformers (MT) is presented in this paper. The neural models representing the dynamics of the objects are suited for simulation purposes and relay protection. Training the neural models is done using simulation results, obtained from classical models of MT. The potential transformer (PT) mathematical description is a nonlinear system of differential-algebraic equations (DAEs). Hysteresis and eddy current losses are considered into one core loss term, represented by voltage dependent resistance load. A new technique is proposed for solving the DAEs, combined with explicit and implicit relations given as data. The current transformer (CT) mathematical model is based on Jiles-Atherton's (J-A) theory (Jiles and Atherton, 1986) of ferromagnetic hysteresis.     The paper describes essential principles of FDDI communication networks. It presents how FDDI network performance can be improved by adaptation of the network controlling parameters - throughput, packet size, access delay, token holding timer. Adaptation is achieved by integrating a fuzzy system into network nodes. To compare the suggested fuzzy approach with the traditional FDDI ones FDDI network simulations are developed. The experimental results are analyzed to estimate the impact of the fuzzy system on the network performance. The performance of the FDDI protocol (as throughput, link utilization, and delay) is examined by varying network parameters. The simulations are performed in the OMNeT++ environment.     The LIN (Local Interconnect Network) interface module for neuron base smart sensors is presented in this paper, which is based on programmable logic devices implementation. A top-down approach has been used during the design stage and VHDL has been applied for the design description. Operation rates are as follows: 2400 b/sec, 9600 b/sec, 19200 b/sec.
