  • The Method of Auxiliary Sources for antenna synthesis problems

    Based on the Method of Auxiliary Sources (MAS) by means of the scattered field singularities localization antenna synthesis with given pattern directivity is considered. The antenna synthesis problem has ambiguous solution, because the same pattern at the same frequency could get with the different current distribution on certain antenna surface. But there exist unique optimal current distribution in order to get efficiently given pattern. It could be realized with minimal value of: the: currents, reactive near field and the best matched antenna to radiation.     The mathematical technique is developed which permits to determine the parameters of coatings providing for bodies of different shape their invisibility from the direction of one-position radar. The “invisibility” means that the scattered field, which arises when a wave radiated by the radar falls on the body, equals zero at the position where the radar is located. This condition must be satisfied for all orientations of the radar with respect to the body. The both widely used impedance and dielectric (nonmagnetic) coatings are considered. The first results related to the protection of nonplanar surfaces are presented and possible directions of further investigations in this field are pointed out. View full abstract»

  • Sound radiation from aircraft during takeoff

    The problem of sound radiation from airplane during takeoff in wind conditions is considered. The aircraft engines are modeling as point sources moving in air with constant velocity under an angle to the plane interface of acoustic and solid elastic half-spaces. The solution of problem is obtained using the integral Fourier-transforms over time and space coordinates, and the stationary phase method. The numerical analysis of spatial-time distributions of sound pressure and sound pressure level is carried out for takeoff case of the twin-engine aircraft Boeing 777-300ER. View full abstract»

    A problem of electromagnetic waves scattering and radiation by a structure consisting of two asymmetrical vibrators (monopoles) with variable surface impedance allocated in a rectangular waveguide and a narrow transverse slot cut in a broad wall of the waveguide is solved by the generalized method of induced electro-magneto-motive forces (EMMF).   • Scattering of H-polarized electromagnetic wave by grooved dihedral wedge co-axially coupled with dielectric covered metal slotted cylinder

    Scattering of electromagnetic wave is considered for a composite structure consisting of a conducting grooved dihedral wedge that is co-axially coupled with a slotted cylinder covered with dielectric. The boundary-value method is employed using completeness property of the angular functions in the respective intervals. Problem is reduced to solution of system of algebraic equations of second kind for the unknown coefficients of Fourier expansion of scattered field. Analytical solution is obtained for certain values of cylinder slot-width and electrical radius of cylinder.     In this paper the scattering characteristics are calculated with the technique based on the volume integral equations for polarization currents. A study of electromagnetic field interaction with the 3D lattice dielectric structure involved defect layer and gain material is performed in this paper. Mutual transformations of a wave modes propagating in such waveguides are investigated. Analytical solutions for some coupling coefficients are obtained. A variation of polarization parameters along longitudinal coordinate is analyzed.
