The joint RTCA SC-217/EUROCAE WG-44 committee completed the latest revisions of the AMDB user requirements and interchange specifications DO-272C and DO-291B in 2011. One of the major novelties is the introduction of the ASRN. The ASRN supports manual editing of taxi routes, data link transmissions of taxi routes, and highly detailed display of taxi routes in the cockpit. View full abstract»

We have demonstrated the benefits of the high-resolution extension to the SpaceWire standard. Initially limited to 280 ns, we are able now to achieve a time-tagging accuracy of 40 ns, which represents a gain by a factor of seven. When in the free-running counter configuration, the highest time resolution could still be achieved even with low SpaceWire data rates. In that case, the time resolution ... View full abstract»

For a nonlinear integrated GPS/IMU system with an uncertain dynamic model, the standard extended Kalman filtering algorithm is no longer applicable. In this research, an interval filtering algorithm is applied to the uncertain integrated system. The system parameters uncertainties are described by intervals. The IAKF algorithm is established for the uncertain integrated system. The IAKF algorithm ... View full abstract»

As owners of mobile devices tend to deactivate their security settings, data on these devices is often insufficiently protected [1]. One reason for this is that most mobile devices do only offer the authentication via PIN or password, which requires explicit interaction and thus is time consuming and not very user friendly. To solve this problem, an alternative unobtrusive authentication method ba... View full abstract»

  • New approach in designing solid upper stage for interplanetary missions using finite burn assumption

    Publication Year: 2013 , Page(s): 36 - 43

In this article a new approach is proposed for the design of solid propulsion upper stages. The majority of this research has focused on the design environment and interaction between disciplines to optimize design and save time. In this article, finite burn is inserted in the initial phases of design, and a propulsion system was designed based on this assumption. Results are similar to real and o... View full abstract»
