    The most common cause of chemical aging of insulating oils is oxidation. Inhibited oils are insulating oils to which an oxidation inhibitor such as 2,6 ditertiary-butyl phenol or 2,6 dietertiary-butyl cresol has been added in order to slow the rate of oxidation [1]–[3].
