  • A global optimization method for fuzzy analytic hierarchy process with application to New Product Development project screening

    A global optimization method for linear programming for finding the fuzzy priority vector in fuzzy analytic hierarchy process(AHP) is developed in this paper. Some rigorous mathematical definition and theorems for the optimization method are stated and proved. Instead of performing complicated computations, the graphical approach([18, p.30]) is used to find the fuzzy priority vector for the fuzzy pairwise comparison matrix(FPCM). This graphical approach is applied to New Product Development (NPD) project screening, which is a multiple criteria decision making(MCDM) problem. NPD is largely uncertain, because of competition accompanied with modern technology and market changes. It always leads to failure of new product development.   • A hybrid due-date fulfilled forecasting based on clustering and decision trees

    In wafer fabrication, due date fulfilling is very important. How to timely delivering the goods to customer is very important. It will enhance customer service and competitive advantage. But the complexities of production system and re-entrant processes in wafer fabrication have raised the challenge for due date management. How to predict due date related performance is very important. In this research, a predict model of due date related performance based on decision tree has been modeled. Due date fulfilling performance will be classified to EE (extremely earliness), NE (Normal earliness), OT (On time), NL (Normal lateness), EL (Extremely lateness) based on the decision tree trained by a great quantity of historical data. Furthermore, different combination of order releasing rules (UNIF, TB, and WR) and dispatching rules (FIFO, EDD, CR, SRPT, and COVERT) have been considered in the simulation tests. In the result of simulation and statistics, average rate of correctly classifying is more than 90%. Especially in the combination of TB*SRPT, UNIF*COVERT, and WR*COVERT, the rate are larger than 95%. Managers of the wafer fabrication plants can improve the decision quality for due date management and shop floor control by prediction the due date related performance. View full abstract»

  • A study of reputation measurement system of construction agency in government investment project

    The trusting and cooperative relation between government principal and Construction Agency (CA) which based on the reputation effect from repeated game of principal and agent is a long-term incentive mechanism in government investment project. The importance of reputation effect is increasing in the construction agency competition, and the selection of CA based on reputation need an effective measurement of the reputation for CA. The paper analyzed components and driving factors of CA reputation, establishing CA reputation measurement indexes system and model from the view of stakeholders. However the measurement indexes should need further empirical study. Only by this the reputation evaluations can be introduced into CA Market Access management in order to establish a kind of cooperative relation in CA market and make it more perfect.     Product platform has been proven a successful strategy in business practice, and platform architecture is crucial to platforming strategy. In this paper, some issues on platform architecture are firstly discussed and argued. Then an analysis tool termed as interfacing analysis matrix (IAM) is presented for the analysis of base platform architecture, with improvement of the existing analysis tools for architecture coupling.   • Analysis on coal mine investment decision based on binomial tree pricing model

    Coal resource plays an irreplaceable role in economy development, which decides the importance of coal mine investment. The influencing factors of coal mine investment are complicated and diversified, so the valuation should be flexible. In this paper, firstly, the concept and classification of real option are introduced. Then, combining to the compound binomial tree for stages, the principle and main equations of binomial tree pricing model are described. At last, net present value method and binomial tree pricing model are brought to do empirical research respectively. In this way, binomial tree pricing model is proved to evaluate coal mine investment project accurately, which to some extent can conduct how to invest the coal mine project with high risk.   • Application of the ANP method based on entropy coefficients to evaluation of resource-based city innovation capacity

    In order to scientifically and objectively evaluate resource-based cities innovation capacity, the entropy is adopted to select the evaluation indexes, whose weights are then determined by analytic network process (ANP) model. This method is applied to evaluate Daqing's innovative capacity since 1998 to 2005. The result shows that the city's innovative capacity improved itself annually.     To help overcome the difficulty of information overload, we conducted simulations to show the importance of information infrastructure in decision-making. Using simulations based on a NK-model, we show that it makes a difference in results whether decision-makers has a complete information infrastructure. Comparing results from two simulations with or without a complete information infrastructure, we find that the attention structure with a complete information infrastructure is significantly better.     In this paper, we reviewed the major problems in the existing recommender systems and presented a tracking recommender approach based on user's behavior information and two-level property of items. Our proposed approach defined user profile model, knowledge resources model and constructed Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) mapping to guide a personalized recommendation for user. We simulated a prototype recommender system that can make the quality recommendation by tracking user's behavior.   • Developing green supplier selection procedure: A DEA approach

    This study considers a criteria set including green, traditional, and partnership issues for the green supplier selection problem. The criteria set takes carbon footprint into account, because the international regulations have paid much attention on the carbon footprint exposure in recent years. Moreover, most of the studies of green supplier selection use Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) and Analytical Network Process (ANP) to evaluate the suppliers. However, according to the limitation of this methodology, they can only deal with the small size problem. This study introduces Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) into assessment, and combined with AHP to establish an integrated model. Furthermore, the assurance region is implemented not only to take the opinion of decision makers into consideration, but to increase the discriminating power of the model.     With the announce of new rules in Chinese trust company, the competitions among different trust companies are more fierce, and the efficiency of trust company is the epitome of competitive power; accordingly promoting the efficiency of trust company is key to guard against financial risks and open up externally. This paper firstly studies the profit efficiency of China 44 trust companies by using stochastic frontier analysis (SFA) method; first, adopt the model of trans-log function and structuring profit function, and the result indicates that profit efficiency of Chinese trust company shows a decrease tendency in general. It relates to the excessively pursuit of expanding the scale of trust and decreasing the rate of pay of trust in recently years. Besides, classify the trust company according to the background of stockholder, and analyze the intrinsic reasons of actuality, trend, and change of profit efficiency in trust company with different stockholder background. The scheme of evaluation carrying out multi-IO indices helps weaken the influence of subjective factor in the power engineering bidding evaluation.     Sustainability in construction has become a global issue, especially in the aspect of green house gas emissions. At present, engineers are encountered with more challenges, not only providing the best cost advantage, but also considering environmental impact, and affording the most sustainable solution. Therefore, it is the foremost step for reliable and consistent quantification of air pollutant emissions to implement environmentally sustainable construction operations. The objective of this research is to implement the Discrete-Event Simulation (DES) model to measure the CO2 emissions released by non-road construction vehicles and equipment during earthwork for building construction, in order to provide the accurate, consistent & realistic quantification of CO2 emissions at micro level.     The proposal calculated by shapley value turns out to be an equally-shared proposal on the fixed cost by its nature. The present paper calculates the externality earning for each contributing interest of the fixed cost by using the shapley value based on the equally-shared proposal on the fixed cost, sets the expected recovery rate on externality earning in line with the scarcity of each contributing interest, participation willingness and attention on organization's earning, and modifies the original allocation proposal by redistributing the externality earning.
