Different market economic systems, or one market economic system in its different stages may have different levels of market development, and the different levels of market development may have different effects on the application of the fair value measurement model. Fair value measurement model has three levels and three measurement methods. This paper aims to discuss the applicability of the three levels and the three measurement methods of the fair value measurement model in various market economic systems (the government-led and planned economic system, the imperfect market economic system, system with no monopoly and completely free competition, system with monopoly and completely free competition, as well as government and market double-led market system), different items in the same economic system, and puts forward some proposals for the correct application of the fair value measurement model in a variety of situations, which can improve the usefulness of accounting information accordingly. This paper uses MFDFA-2 method and the shuffled and surrogated return time series to study the multifractality in the volatility returns of 23 countries after 2007 stock market crash. The results suggest although the financial crisis is caused by US subprime lending crisis, the influence has spread to the whole world. The multifractality degree after 2007 stock market crash is higher than the day before 2007, either to US or other countries. And the multifractality degree of volatility return is higher for emerging market. However, there are the same dynamical mechanisms to small and large fluctuations of volatility return. And we verified that the multifractal structure of 23 countries can be mainly attributed to the long-range correlations and secondarily to the broad fat-tail distributions. So we should pay attention to the different mechanisms before and after stock market crash of price and volatility return and improve the level of management to financial risk. View full abstract»

Many building designers believe that thermal mass can significantly enhance the thermal performance of buildings in cold climate. This paper presents the technical details of a computational simulation study, showing that thermal mass distribution do not generate significant energy saving for a high-rise apartment buildings in cold climate. Six configurations, each with different level of thermal mass and distribution schemes, are studied. The results indicate that, for a high-rise apartment with Toronto's cold climatic condition, the optimal design option is capable of achieving a thermal lag up to 9 hours and maintaining indoor surface temperature to within 1 degree Celsius of difference. Consequently, the peak loads of heating and cooling systems are reduced, resulting in better indoor temperature control. However, the simulation results show that the distribution of thermal mass does not significantly influence the building's energy efficiency. This paper also discusses ongoing and future research. “The creation of global HR systems remains a real challenge for organizations fighting to stay competitive in a globalized marketplace” ( Wiechmann & et al, 2003, p.71). In addressing this ongoing “challenge,” in this paper we first examine important global staffing issues and the practices that should be implemented to create a successful international global staffing strategy. Second, we paint a picture of the economic and labor conditions of Iran within a broader global marketplace. Finally, we specifically review Iranian HR managers' challenges in staffing, as well as identify the core and unique competencies necessary for carrying out effective Iranian domestic and international staffing strategies within an increasingly globalized economy. Most organizational theorists agree that having intelligent managers is one of the most important contributors to overall organizational success and task or mission cannot be accomplished by not paying attention to manager's intelligence. This research is a sole study about the role of Multiple Intelligences, (MI) in organizational effectiveness, (OE) in management era. Nowadays managers should be more intelligent than their rivals in this competitive and turbulent market. This paper aims to explore the MI notion in details. Also the relationship of MI and OE comes as well. View full abstract»

The low independent innovation capacity is the bottleneck constraints of Chinese auto industry to enhance the international competitiveness. This paper thinks that the major difficulties of Chinese auto industry innovating independently are imperfect government support policies, research and development funding shortage, its own brand weak, lack of independent research experience and data accumulated the innovation platform of national automobile industry not yet formed, and other reasons. This proposes we should formulate the tax and financial policies to encourage enterprises to increase investment in independent innovation, reasonably lead the Merger within the industry, expand the automotive industrial concentration, develop Chinese automobile brand to build a system of auto industry innovation and collaboration platform for innovation. Industry cluster is a “double-edged sword” and technology innovation both have external economic effects and external non-economic effects. But people always ignore problems resulted from industrial technological innovation. This paper has summarized and analyzed problems existed in China's industrial cluster innovation and put forward the corresponding strategies. We believe that dialectic mechanism of industrial cluster and innovation must be comprehensively taken into consideration so that technology innovation policy of improving industry competitiveness and promoting regional development can be achieved. It is significant to coordinate interest distribution and improve the overall efficiency of closed-loop supply chain system. In this paper, we explore a two-level CLSCS comprised of a manufacturer and a retailer. Considering substitutability and uncertainty in closed-loop supply chain under information asymmetry condition, we propose a multi-task principal-agent model to maximize expected income of manufacturer and certainty equivalence income of retailer. Analysis results show the manufacturer will design incentive coefficients and the retailer will adjust effort levels according to risk-averse degree, external uncertainty and correlation coefficient of the marginal effort cost. The thesis has adopted the idea of supply chain management to analyze the importance and composition of the marketing channel logistics system, indicating the significance of vulnerability assessment on it. Then the vulnerability of marketing channel logistics system has been analyzed and evaluated from both qualitative and quantitative aspects. In the end, the thesis concludes that as long as we take control measures not to reach the threshold of vulnerability, the system will keep a normal and stable operation. View full abstract»

This paper investigates the effect of permissible delay in payments on ordering policies in a two-level supply chain with one supplier and one retailer. We relax the assumption of deterministic demand and assume the retailer faces Poisson demand. Transportation times are none-zero constants. Both parties use one-for-one ordering policy. We derive the exact value of the expected cost for the inventory system and obtain the optimal inventory levels. A sensitivity analysis is also performed to explore the effect of key parameters such as credit period, product price and lead-time on expected total cost. Numerical examples are presented with results discussed. View full abstract»
