    The effort to decrease the power dissipation in the energetic system stemming from increasing ecological and economical requirements is the reason of the growing frequency of occurrence of various incidental phenomena. It is important to consider the system as a whole, so it is necessary to take into account the fact that lowering the power dissipation will lead to absorption in the system. However, that results in increasing and lengthening the system's response to any change, and therefore also to the character of transient phenomena. In the electric power system these are usually a short-term increase or decrease in voltage. It can also happen that as a result of a change in the system, the voltage will increase permanently, which might have a destructive effect on most electrical appliances. View full abstract»

  • Assessment of short-circuit conditions in the interconnected local distribution system

    This paper analyzes how to calculate the symmetrical and unsymmetrical short-circuit currents. The main reason of this thesis is to give, step by step, a complete method for the calculating of short-circuit currents and his mechanical or thermal stresses in local distribution network. The calculation is applying on medium-voltage AC power networks and takes into account the recommendations of the IEC 60909-0 standard. Thesis also deals with limiting of short-circuit current when the short-circuit withstand capability of equipment within power network is exceeded and evaluation of individual variants of this limitation.   • Using of the mathematical tool of discrete electrotechnic for indefecation of parameters of transmission lines

    Information about parameters of equivalent circuit such important unit of the power engineering systems (PES) as transmission lines (TL) is required for: evaluation complexes, diagnostic process of electrical equipment, adaptive management of unit etc. The designing of adaptive object model is realized on a base of the information about regime and circuital parameters - parameters of an equivalent circuit (PEC), which can be determined on a base of a value of electric regime parameters (ERP). The adaptive model of an elements PES gives the information, which is identical condition of the object at any time.   • Reserching pressure vawe from the electrodischarge in water

    In the electrodischarge technology of materials process which use electro burst phenomenon in liquids or solids the working tool is expanding discharge channel from pulsed breakdown. Plasma channel in water is made by electrical breakdown of interelectrode gap or electro burst wire and following breakdown of burst products (vapors of water and metal) in the gap. The first approach requires high amplitudeof voltage pulse and the second one needs high amplitude of current pulse. The choice of parameters of high voltage pulse generator is usually made either by empirical experience or by evaluation results of calculation of pressure waves. Still the accuracy of calculation of pressure waves is dissatisfactory because it requires making self- consistent calculation of the equations of transient process in the discharge circuit, equations of plasma state and wave dynamics.   • State parameters interconnections of power system including a high frequency synchronous generator with an asynchonous tie

    The last progresses in power mechanical engineering and power electronics had permitted to construct gas turbine power units (GTPU) with high frequency synchronous generators (HFSG) and static frequency converters (SFC) operating as asynchronous tie (AT). Such GTPU has a number of advantages over conventional one: 1) does not have a reduction gear between turbine and generator shafts; 2) gives an opportunity to minimize weight and dimensions of a turboset and power plant as a whole; 3) permits to optimize turbine's modes by means of it's rotation speed control; 4) gives additional opportunities of GTPU states control and required power quality support with the help of SFC control; 5) owing to this control, allows to improve operating speed of states control and the unit protection. These features make AT GTPUs of great practical interest, so that a considerable number of power stations with such units is planned to put into operation in Russia in the nearest future. Mention that they are designed to operate both in parallel with the power system and autonomous supplying a local load.     The present paper describes control of serial communication in LabVIEW software. Serial communication is a popular means of transmitting data between a computer and a peripheral device such as a programmable instrument or even another computer. Serial communication uses a transmitter to send data, one bit at a time, over a single communication line to a receiver. You can use this method when data transfer rates are low or you must transfer data over long distances. Serial communication is popular because most computers have one or more serial ports, so no extra hardware is needed other than a cable to connect your instrument to the computer (or two computers together).     The present paper describes a system for measuring, collecting, analyzing, and displaying data. A 100 W solar energy converter is used to monitor the effect of operating conditions on its loading characteristics. This photovoltaic (PV) cell and the associated measuring and data acquisition system have been installed in the solar laboratory (on a terraced roof) in the department of electrical power engineering, FEEC, BUT. Thanks to the system of collecting, archiving, and analyzing the data measured we can monitor, define, and subsequently interpret all positive and more significantly the negative external effects on the efficiency of the device.     With the development of microprocessor technology there appeared the requirement for studying new kinds of microprocessors and microcontrollers with their application to solve practical tasks. The main function of modern microcontrollers is the operation in electronic systems. Availability of electrically reprogrammable program and data memory, a large number of registers and in-circuit resources provide really fantastic opportunities to solve many tasks of automation, including creating cheap measurement systems and controlling electrical circuits. In order to study modern microcontrollers the chair Industrial and Medical Electronics (IME) of TPU has bought several units of the STK500 starter kit. This kit was 52 designed for engineers who are willing to start designing program code and testing it. The STK500 has the following characteristics: compatibility with AVR Studio program; programmer for programming microcontrollers; support of parallel and serial high-voltage programming of all AVR- microcontrollers; connection to PC through RS- 232 Interface for programming and control; 8-output, 20-output, 28-output, 40-output sockets for fixing DIP-package of AVR-microcontrollers; serial In-System programming (ISP) of all AVR- devices; 8 push buttons for general use, 8LEDs for general use, additional RS-232 Port; expansion connector for accessing external modules; embedded DataFlash with capacitance 2 Mb for nonvolatile data storage.     Sand is a naturally occurring granular material composed of finely divided mineral particles. Dredging is the repositioning of soil from a marine environment with the aid of special equipment called dredger in order to initiate infrastructural or ecological improvement.The ecological disadvantages of excavating the limited landscape to serve all the need for sand is much more than the danger posed by a careful dredging of sand from the sea bed.     At present there are various methods of rapid prototyping. Different physical processes and materials for making prototypes are employed: stereo-lithography - layered hardening of liquid monomers with UV-laser beam trough light influence: LOM method employs sheet materials cut with laser beams; FDIVI-method - layered covering of melted polymer fibers; selective laser sintering - SLS.     Turbomechanisms are the machines of mass application. Suffice it to say that about 25 % of all electric power generated in the country is spent for the electric drive of pumps, fans and compressors. Technical perfection and profitability of electric drive turbomechanisms substantially define the rationality of electric power use in national economy. When dealing with profitability of the electric drive not only its minimal cost and high power parameters but also such quality of the electric drive as adjustability should be kept in mind. High profitability of the electric drive allows turbomechanisms to do the necessary according to technological conditions work with the minimum consumption of energy.The purpose of the given work is consideration of mechanical characteristics features of pump units as electric drive loading machines with the help of frequency regulation.
