    The problems encountered in a study of the transient response of a heat transfer system in which the coolant experiences a phase change are discussed. The differential equations which govern the system are presented. The analog computer circuit is developed from the equations and the peculiarities of the circuit are described.     In the use of a multiplier phototube to measure short time intervals, the accuracy of the measurement is limited by the statistical deviations in the output pulse from the phototube.
