Abstract

Bluetooth is a wireless technology that enables a wireless device to communicate in the 2.4 GHz industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) band. It has been specifically designed as a low cost, low power radio technology, which is particularly suited for the short range personal area network (PAN) application. In this paper we develop an application for a Bluetooth system that helps create a smart billboard that utilizes the individualism of consumer behavior. The essential parts of the development includes the graphical user interface (GUI) based application that runs on the mobile devices and the application equipped with advertisement presentation and information exchange capability. The communication between the two major components of the system is based on Bluetooth.
