Abstract
With Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) it is possible to transmit different digital contents together with the video signal, i.e. datacasting. This has become possible due to the coding and compression technologies used to process the signal, not available with analogue technology. This subject created the discussion about the digital dividend, which addresses the best way to use the spectrum, so as to improve its efficiency. This article shows the concept of Personalcasting applied to data, which is sent simultaneously through DTT to the entire coverage area, directing contents to specific users and providing a better use of the DTT spectrum meant, due to high data volume that will be used for datacasting.
