Abstract
Outlines the facilities of the System Communication Mobile Relayed
Satellite (SYCOMORES). The system was developed to provide a land mobile
radiotelephony service and data broadcasting over Europe. The system was
designed under the following constraints: fulful the major parts of the
initial needs of the European market; highest re-use of the actual
technology and existing platform; solve the link transmission problems
at latitudes higher than 35° north; and decrease the expected cost
of the services
