Abstract
Many banks and Airline Companies have used Coupon Automatic Recognition System to process cheques and air tickets, but how to storage such huge numbers of coupon images efficiently is still a challenge problem. In this paper, we introduce an adaptive multi-types air ticket images compression scheme based on background knowledge extraction. Comparing with the method of directly using common compression standard JPEG and JPEG2000, the total compression rate is improved dramatically.
