Abstract
The popularity of live streaming applications on the internet is increasing. These applications are highly delay sensitive and bandwidth intensive. The traditional client-server model requires a lot of upload bandwidth and processing power on the server side to handle millions of clients. In this paper we propose a mesh based peer-to-peer architecture for streaming audio that is scalable, reliable, provides greater control over the quality of the stream and facilitates graceful degradation of the audio stream in the event of a failure of a peer.
