Numerical Analysis of AC Losses in Multifilamentary Coated Conductors With Non-Uniform Electric Properties

Numerical electromagnetic field analysis is conducted to calculate AC losses in twisted multifllamentary YBCO coated conductors with non-uniform electric properties, including those with non-uniform lateral J
_c
distributions and those with superconducting bridges between filaments. For the former, the influence of a combination of the transverse resistance between filaments and the J
_c
distributions on the current distribution and AC loss characteristics is studied. For the latter, the influence of the location and number of bridges on the current distribution and AC loss characteristics is studied.
