Abstract
We present a baseband processing platform that consists of a DSP processor and an ASIC unit introduced in T. Prokop et al. (2004). Based on this platform, we show detailed architecture of the implementation of the NodeB R99 physical layer channel processing of the 3GPP UMTS. We then show the ability of this platform to support the implementation of HSDPA channels introduced in R5 and E-DCH channels introduced in R6 of the standard by means of innovative DSP solutions
