Abstract
A genetic algorithm is applied to optimize a pulsewidth modulation (PWM) inverter, which cannot only spread harmonic energy but also reduce harmonic distortion. Simulation and experimental results verify that the optimized PWM technique is superior to standard triangular PWM and random PWM techniques.
