Analysis of high frequency pass-band photodetection response at the rear contact in a multi-electrode SOA

We investigate the evolution of the frequency band-pass photodetection response at the rear contact of a multi-electrode SOA by the compression gain filtering effect. Experimental results are obtained by using a two-section SOA (300 /spl mu/m-200 /spl mu/m). Analysis is done by modelling the SOA cavity by M cascaded sections to take into account the spatially distribution of the carrier density to accurately model the photodetection response at each SOA electrode.
