Modular transport node architectures exploiting limited shelf interconnection and hitless traffic re-grooming

We analyze the merits of modular node architectures in number of line interfaces required, for multi-period planning with and without traffic churn. The impact of supporting traffic re-grooming and increasing slot capacity are highlighted.
