Optimization of client-to-line-side switching in DWDM networks using sliceable bandwidth-variable transponders

We evaluate the impact of electrical switching capacity on the cost-efficiency of SBVT-enabled backbone networks through a novel grooming and equipment provisioning algorithm. The results stress how the switch design is critical in balancing client-card and switch matrix costs.
