Waveguide germanium photodetector with high bandwidth and high L-band responsivity

We present a waveguide germanium p-i-n photodetector for C and L-band operation. A record-high responsivity of 1.30 A/W for a germanium p-i-n photodetector is achieved at 1611.5 nm, while maintaining a high 27 GHz bandwidth.
