Solution Derived ${\rm Sm}_{2}{\rm O}_{3}$ Films on Biaxially Textured Ni-W Substrates

thin films have been prepared on biaxial textured Ni-5%W metallic substrates by chemical solution deposition. Precursor film crystallizes at 1000
^°
C in reduced atmosphere and forms a pure Sm
₂
O
₃
cubic phase with (004) orientation. The Sm
₂
O
₃
film shows an excellent biaxial texture. A homogenous and crack-free surface is observed.
