An antenna for medical implant communications system

Tissue implanted devices are of great interest for wireless medical applications due to the promise of different clinical usages in order to promote a patient’s independence. A key component of wireless implanted device is an antenna, and there are several issues to consider while designing an in-body antenna, including power consumption, size, frequency, biocompatibility and the unique RF transmission challenges posed by the human body. This paper mainly deals with an implantable antenna designing for the frequency range of 402- 405 MHz.
