Integrated life-cycle management

This paper describes how integrated life cycle management (ILCM) can help companies achieve the dual goals of increased competitiveness and environmental stewardship. ILCM provides a flexible, decision-oriented approach for making business decisions in a way that supports a firm's business and environmental goals. The specific implementations of ILCM will vary by their choice of life cycle boundary, metrics, and alternatives, as dictated by the firm's goals. Two example applications are presented.<
