We have prepared a new series of R-Fe-B alloys with R=Nd, Pr, and Dy having the Y3Fe62B14 structure using the melt-spinning technique. This metastable phase when annealed at higher temperatures transforms to the R2Fe14B1+α-Fe phase. We have studied the crystallization behavior of these alloys. 57Fe Mossbauer studies have shown that the as-spun samples were amorphous and the ribbons annealed at 600-620°C contain the metastable Y3 Fe62B14 type structure with α-Fe. The analysis of the Mossbauer spectra of the R3Fe62B 14 phases has yielded average hyperfine fields of 229 kG at 295 K and 315 kG at 17 K
