We have analyzed the stepped waveguide radiators in the millimeter wave band by using the generalized scattering matrix technique and have demonstrated that a wideband radiator can be designed having good matching in the whole waveguide working band by using a stepped matching transformer. The obtained simulation results are in good agreement with experimental measurements of the radiators having finite flanges
