Summary form only given. We present a full quantum model designed to compute the intensity noise of vertical-cavity-surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) having only one longitudinal and transverse mode above threshold. We calculate the diffusion coefficients using the generalized Einstein relations. In addition, we take into account the pumping statistics. We introduce the statistics of the times t, when the carrier starts to interact with the electromagnetic field.
