This paper describes a computer simulator for cellular neural networks (CNN) of arbitrary planar topology. The simulator was of the user-friendly type permitting modeling of large scale of networks, having arbitrary dimensions, arbitrary inter-connections, arbitrary template values and arbitrary time constants. Some programmers' tricks have been derived in order to improve the simulator's speed. The simulator was tested over the 2D image processing problem, by removing the noise embedded into a 90×20 pixel image corrupted by the Gaussian noise
