A new apparatus has been recently developed in the Institute of RS and GIS of PKU. The apparatus is a digital photofinishing system that employs an OE (Optical Engine) for light source and a LCD (liquid crystal display) panel for digital imaging. This system applies digital imaging technologies in the conventional silver halide imaging chain. Traditional photofinishing has been enhanced by delivering new products to the consumer and by delivering existing services and products at higher quality and less cost. In the system, the newly released product of LCD is used to write digital images onto conventional AgX color negative paper, and the technologies, equipment, and software, highly leveraged from the imaging PC, are used.
