The paper presents the procedure and the results of temperature field simulation for 3D systems, characteristic for the electric multisection resistive tubular furnaces designated for the calibration of thermometric sensors by the method of comparison. The results of simulation were compared to those of the measurements, performed for a physical 5-section furnace designed for testing the sheathed thermometric sensors. The simulation results proved useful in designing such furnaces and accompanying equipment
