The diagnostic tools and current utilization of a vibration-monitoring computer system, designed to evaluate machine performance at a nuclear generating station, are described. Performance can be evaluated through instantaneous sampling, online static and transient data. The system functions as an alarm monitor, displaying timely alarm data to the control area. Evaluation through continuous use has led to many enhancements in alarm handling and in the acquisition and display of machine data. System development and maintenance techniques are also discussed
