Extended linearization is applied to a nonlinear model of a highly maneuverable missile. Hence, classical design rules, dictated by the classical aeronautical knowledge, are used to design a global nonlinear controller for the missile. Unlike many other papers on extended linearization, stability-even incremental stability-of the nonlinear closed loop is shown, so global properties are guaranteed, meanwhile only local properties were expected from the design methodology. Simulation results including some robustness tests are also presented
