Vlsis for HDTV systems

High definition television (HDTV) systems are now reaching the stage of paractical use[1]. In japan, daily HDTA broadcasting has already been continued for more than one and a half years on an experimental basis. This is to be expanded into nearly full scale test broadcasting late this year preceding the start up of regular services.
