Coax to waveguide transition optimization using wire/plate method of moments

The present preferred designs of broadband coax to waveguide transitions use large cylindrical conductors or large dielectric sleeves. In this paper, thin planar transitions are proposed and optimized using a wire and plate method of moments analysis (WIPL). The return losses of the new transitions are good.
